If you’re a new mom, or even if you’ve been around the pregnancy block a few times, you know that the days of feeling good about yourself can be few and far between. There’s always something more to do, more to worry about, more to clean up after. That’s why self-care is so important during pregnancy and after having a baby. It’s not just about feeling good but also looking good--and who doesn’t want that?!

We use the finest ethically sourced ingredients in our bath, body & aromatherapy products. The products used to care for the largest organ on your body should heal, moisturize and nourish WITHOUT any harsh toxic chemicals. Our product formulations are based on one guiding principle and that is fewer ingredients are better. Using plant-derived ingredients to get healthy glowing skin mixed with a little aromatherapy can boost the highest levels of confidence in our book. Our products are NEVER tested on animals, only humans that are willing to try something new in their daily bathing and body care routine.

We have a complete ingredient list that we say NO to when formulating products. Check it out below:

We do believe in using a preservative with products that come in contact with water and here is the reason why. Mold growth is a real thing and if a product comes in contact with water such as a body scrub and it does not contain a preservative, visible (sometimes invisible) mold that is harmful to your health will start to form in the product. Our bodies don't like that and we don't want that to happen to your luxe product.

Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol is the preservative we use in our Nourishing Body Scrubs and Sugar Shea Exfoliating Body Buff. It is a safe and approved preservative for skincare and cosmetics when used in small amounts of 1% or less. We use this ingredient at 1% and it is paraben and formaldehyde-free. It provides protection against microbial growth from bacteria and yeast.

The thought of starting Skin Flo came about when CEO and Founder Kenyé Pierce was pregnant with her second child. All of the effects of pregnancy such as dealing with an itchy growing belly, stretch marks, dry skin, and a host of other pregnancy-related issues along with being really tired most days led Kenyé to not get into her weekly self-care rituals like she used to do before she was pregnant. In her mind, that definitely had to change. Kenyé's pregnancy was considered to be "high-risk", so she was extra cautious about what went in and on her body during this time.

That meant that whatever products she used had to be safe, and they needed to work. Kenyé realized after searching day after day for that one body care product that would help soothe her skin, nothing good was out there on the market. Products that claimed to be safe had a bunch of ingredients that were not deemed safe for women who were expecting. After not finding products that would soothe her itchy, growing belly and get her back to doing her weekly self-care rituals, Kenyé got inspired to start making her own body care products. After doing extensive research on ingredients and learning how to formulate a quality product, Kenyé crafted a product that not only solved her pregnancy skin issues but a product that she could continue using long after pregnancy.
